JOHNNY NELSON said Oleksandr Usyk looked "like he'd been hit with a bus" despite beating Anthony Joshua for the WBA and IBF heavyweight titles.
Joshua was defeated by Usyk in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium squared circle. Joshua won the fight unanimously.
Joshua will be defending Usyk's belts in a rematch later this month.
Usyk suffered from marks under his eyes, and a cut to his eyebrows.
Joshua and his Ukrainian counterpart were to fight in May and July.
However, there were several stumbling blocks in negotiations that pushed the fight back.
Russia's war against Usyk's Ukraine was one of the major issues that had an effect.
35-year-old Usyk returned to Russia earlier this year to fight Russia.
He is now training for his defense of the title.
They will be rematching their efforts on August 20th in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
Joshua should be proud of the way he left Usyk's Face in the Last Fight - despite losing.
Nelson, a former cruiserweight world champion, said Joshua left Usyk looking like he'd been "hit by a bus". This is a welcome boost before the dust settles in Saudi Arabia.
Nelson spoke to Sky Sports and said that Joshua's power was evident. He added: "Look at last fight. Take a look at Usyk's state when he came out.
"Usyk looked as if he'd been hit with a bus, even though he won the game and AJ lost.
"AJ must now go in and do the right thing. Go in and fight for his cause. Let's try to make a difference.
"Use this height. Use that range. That ruggedness will help him. He will win if he does that. There is a lot of hullabaloo about Oleksandr Uzyk, but he can be beat. It is possible.
This is possible. It is possible. AJ has to be prepared with the right mindset and the right game plan.
"This fight is one he can win, and he will become a three time heavyweight champion of this world."
