Oleksandr Usyk opens door to fight Canelo Alvarez at cruiserweight despite sensational THREE-AND-A-HALF STONE difference

OLEKSANDR USAYK has opened the doors to Canelo Alvarez at cruiserweight.

Canelo has won titles in all four divisions and was most recently undisputed champion at super-middleweight.

He then asked the WBC to accept his request to be made a cruiserweight champion and to challenge him for their belt.

Before Usyk moved up to heavyweight where he beat Anthony Joshua, In was previously held by Usyk.

Usyk said he would fight Canelo in his hometown, as he was concerned about Canelo's campaign.

BoxingInsider was told by he: "Yeh, I can fight him as a cruiserweight." He did one thing: I will keep my belts at heavyweight.

"Then, I fight him at cruiserweight, and then I return to heavyweight."

Joshua was 32 when Usyk beat him for the WBA, IBF, and WBO belts.

He climbed 15st 11lbs the day before, which is over THREE-AND-A-HALF STONE heavier than the 12st Canelo weighs in at super-middleweight.

Canelo, 31, won belts ranging from light-middleweight to light-heavyweight.

His biggest career win was the WBO 175lb title, which he won after beating Sergey Kovalev (39), in November 2019.

However, Canelo quickly moved down to super-middleweight and has since settled in his new weight.

In just eleven months and four fights, the undisputed champion of pound-for–pound became undisputed in his first title defense.

He won over Callum Smith (31), Avni Yoldirim (30), Billy Joe Saunders (32) and Caleb Plant (29).

Canelo would make the leap to cruiserweight by gaining two more divisions.
