Oleksandr Usyk's ice-cold response

Oleksandr Usyk has opened up about his reaction to the news that Tyson Fury had pulled out of their highly anticipated super-fight. The unbeaten champions were scheduled to face each other in a historic four-belt heavyweight unification on February 17 in Saudi Arabia.

Fury's devastating cut

However, just two weeks before the fight, Fury suffered a severe cut during sparring, leaving him with no choice but to withdraw from the bout.

New date agreed

During an appearance on The MMA Hour, Usyk and Fury confirmed that they have agreed to a new date for the fight, which is now set for May 18.

Usyk remains unfazed

Usyk revealed that he was in the gym when he received the news, but he refused to let it affect him. He simply smiled and went back to training.

Both fighters agree to financial penalty

Both Usyk and Fury have agreed to forfeit £10 million of their own money if either of them pulls out of the fight within the next three months.

Potential replacements

If Usyk withdraws, Anthony Joshua will have the opportunity to replace him and fight Fury. On the other hand, if Fury is forced to withdraw, Usyk will be able to choose a replacement opponent.

Fury's disappointment

Fury expressed his disappointment about the situation, stating that he had been training in Saudi Arabia for five weeks and everything was going well. He acknowledged that cuts can happen during training camp and accepted it as "god's will."
