Oleksandr Usyk says he didn’t KO Anthony Joshua, because he was fine with cruising to dominant points victory

OLEKSANDRUSYK insists that he is more than satisfied with his points win over Anthony Joshua, despite the fact that he hurt the former heavyweight champion.

With a masterclass at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Olympic gold medallist ended Watford's second reign of unified heavyweight champion.

Usyk did not knock out AJ

Joshua was repeatedly hurt by Usyk (34), but he didn't go in for the kill because he was happy with a point win.

The Ukrainian answered when asked why he didn’t stop AJ: "Why aren’t you so bloodthirsty?"

"All things are fine when there is victory."

"Why is it necessary that a person fall?" He has friends, relatives, and a father.

"If a person falls, it is a huge chunk of their health. That is something I don't support.

His corner advised him not to go for the stoppage, according to the newly-crowned unified heavyweight king.

He stated that he did not have an objective to knock him out, but his trainer in my corner urged me to avoid doing so.

"In the beginning, he was hard hit and I tried to knock him off. My trainer told me to stop and do my job. "

Joshua and Usyk will be rekindling their rivalry early next year, after Joshua activated the "rematch" clause in their contract.

Alexander Krassuyk, his promoter, stated that the contract contained a rematch.

"It has been activated in principle from the side Joshua.

"So, I recall that Oleksandr was thrilled to discuss the topic of a rematch and said, "Wow, cool, Antokha [Anthony] will beat me twice."

Usyk hopes to defend his heavyweight title in front of a large crowd at Kiev's Olympic Stadium.

He stated that he would love to see the rematch at Olympiyskiy Stadium, Kiev.

Joshua, 31 years old, is willing to fight for enemy territory. He said: "Yeah. Of course." Anywhere.

"Wherever there is an opportunity. As I said, anywhere. Anywhere there is an opportunity. I would love to compete again.

"I'll talk to the promotion team and the management team."
