9 Months in the Making
Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk recently shared that the pivotal punch that helped him secure victory over Tyson Fury was not a spur-of-the-moment move. In fact, Usyk revealed that he had been practicing this particular shot for a whopping nine months leading up to their epic showdown in May.
Turning the Tide
During the fight, Usyk almost had Fury down for the count in round nine with a well-timed left hook. This strategic move was a result of months of preparation and training, showcasing Usyk's meticulous approach to the bout.
Usyk's Insight
Speaking about the fight, Usyk explained, "It was a planned action that we had worked on for nine months. It was necessary as it showed him immediately in the ring who the boss is. I was in control the whole time, there were no worries. The process was ongoing."
Divine Intervention?
Despite facing a tough challenge from Fury, Usyk revealed that he felt a surge of strength and support during a crucial moment in the match. He shared, "When I didn’t get knocked down by an uppercut in the sixth round, I felt such a force behind me that I understood that nearby there is my force which I pray to. Maybe it was even an angel, but I felt some kind of support for my back there was no one there (behind me) but the support was felt."

Rematch on the Horizon
Following their intense battle, Fury and Usyk are gearing up for a rematch scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh. Boxing fans are eagerly anticipating this highly-anticipated showdown between the two heavyweight champions.
