Usyk Victorious After Drama in the Ring

OLEKSANDR USYK’s wife, Yekaterina, was not pleased with the controversial low blow landed by Daniel Dubois during their fight last August. The shot below the belt line caused Usyk to fall to the floor in agony, sparking debates across the sport.

Wife's Fury

Usyk's promoter, Alex Krassyuk, revealed that Yekaterina was adamant for Usyk to retaliate strongly, shouting at him to "beat the s*** out of him" following the incident in the ring. Despite the drama, Usyk managed to secure a victory in round nine.

Legal Battle and Return to the Ring

Dubois and his team contested the result with the WBA but were unsuccessful in their appeal. Following the bout, Dubois went on to secure a stoppage victory over Jarrell Miller in December, while Usyk's plans for a heavyweight unification fight were delayed after Tyson Fury's withdrawal due to a sparring injury.

Undisputed Crown Rescheduled

The highly anticipated four-belt heavyweight unification bout between Usyk and Fury has been rescheduled for May 18 after the initial postponement.
