However, the rise of the brothers to stardom in the sport has attracted the ire many purists who feel they are disrespecting sweet science.
De La Hoya, Olympic gold medallist, disagrees with this notion and believes that the pair are bringing new audiences to the fight sport.
The Golden Boy stated to ABC7 that he thought Jake and Logan Paul were great for boxing.
"Boxing is a constant mystery to us. Why is it declining or are there not more world titles fights? And why is the fanbase shrinking?"
"It's not on the surface, but stars like Logan Paul and Jake bring a whole new fanbase into boxing, it makes me embrace it one-thousand percent.
"Now, kids are coming up and me on the streets because of them. They now know who Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao are. These YouTubers are bringing the sport to kids through their platform and social media.
"So it is a yes I accept it always."
Jake has had a greater impact on boxing than his older brother, who shared the ring with Mayweather.
After knockouts by fellow YouTuber AnEson Gib and ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, the former Disney star is now 3-0 as a professional fighter.
On Monday, The Problem Child will face Tyron Woodley, a former UFC 170lb champion.
The younger brother Paul is certain that he will add The Chosen One to his list of victims in a devastating manner.
Sky Sports reported that he said, "Honestly, after this camp I said three rounds and now I think, max two."
"But, to be honest with you, I know deep down that this will be a one-round fight.
"As insane as that sounds. It's going to end up being a short night for Tyron, I believe."
He said, "I'm just different. I believe I am a natural fighter and possess natural power.
"You can't teach speed or power, but you can teach many things."
"I believe that's why my fights ended so quickly.
"When the 10oz Grant gloves are on, I simply grip them back and the knuckles are at their front.
"There is no way these people can handle this damage."
