However, the lightweight prospect left the gym after being criticised by boxing's current king of pound-for-pound.

Canelo, 31 years old, told EsNEWS that Eddie has enough time to support all fighters. You can ask everyone.

Eddy will always be there if you are able to train hard and put in the work, " said Eddy.

Garcia, 23 years old, tweeted in response: "Canelo does not know the facts.

"The first camp with Eddy was great. Then everything went wrong.

He only showed up two week before Fonseca fight, and that was when I first approached my manager about hiring a new trainer.

"Vergil Ortiz left because Eddy never showed. Frank Sanchez was in a fight where Eddy showed up on the day of the fight. Ask Canelo for more details!

"Let's put aside the back-and-forth and concentrate on the fights. Eddy is a man I have nothing but respect for. It's the truth.

Canelo will be back in action against Dmitry Bivol (31), WBA light-heavyweight champion, on May 7.

Garcia will be fighting Emmanuel Tagoe (33), in his boxing return on April 9.

This rising contender seems ready to end his feud with Canelo, but his promoter has other plans.

De La Hoya stated: "Down, three or four years, Ryan Garcia or Canelo at 160. It's impossible to predict the future.
