PROFESSIONAL FIGHTERS LAGUE are in discussions with boxers and other "crossover athletes" - all interested to their $1million prize.
The PFL features a unique format that sees the final two weights of each weight fight for the $1m cheque.
Boxing champion Claressa Shields after her winning PFL debut
It was the third season of the MMA organisation, which ends in Florida on October 27, and it has been a historic one for CEO Peter Murray.
The viewership of ESPN has increased by 100 percent and marquee names have joined their stable in six weight divisions.
This includes former UFC champions Anthony Pettis, 34, Fabricio Werdum (44), and undefeated boxer Claressa Schields, 26,
Murray says that there's more to come with the lure of three fights a year, lucrative prize money, and a championship belt at stake.
SunSport quoted him as saying: "Those fighters that performed well and won, they have earned their chance in the championship for big money.
It adds drama to the fights and provides a huge payday for fighters. One million dollars can change your life.
"It's a big sport so fighters have more chance to make money in the PFL.
"Fighters have been searching for an alternative, and we have certain been compelling fighters now.
"Now they have a real choice as the No2 MMA organization in the sport.
"We are talking to a lot different crossover athletes, boxers who have brought a skill set and desire to compete at a high-level in MMA."
Shields, a three weight boxing champion, made her MMA debut in June with PFL and will now make her return to the final season against Abigail Montes.
Kayla Harrison (double Olympic Judo gold medallist) is the night's headliner. She won the lightweight 2019 women's championship.
American Harrison will face Taylor Guardado at the finals. The goal is to be a two-time champion.
PFL will start a challenger series next year, and the winner will compete in their regular season.
A pay-per-view option will be available, along with a combined that will assess athletes' mental and physical abilities.
Murray stated: "We're launching an challenger series which is brand new.
"We will be launching a new combining and we are also launching pay per view, which is also new.
"And pay-per view will be available after the PFL season starts this spring."
Murray revealed that PFL is close to a UK media partnership but have not yet signed a deal with a network.
He stated that the UK was number one in the international perspective of the PFL. It is one of our top priorities.
"Number 2: We will have a new media partner or partners in 2022. This will increase the visibility of PFL and allow fans in the UK access to the season product as well as the other properties I mentioned."
