DEREK CHISORA'S trainer Dave Coldwell dismissed Eddie Hearn’s suggestion that Deontay Wester should be the next British heavyweight champion.
After three consecutive defeats, the 37-year old is now coming off two losses against Oleksandr Usyk as well as twice against Joseph Parker.
Derek Chisora lost to Joseph Parker, a New Zealand heavyweight, earlier in the month
Del Boy, however, isn't ready to end his career. He stated that he would be back in the ring next summer for his 45th bout.
Hearn, a matchroom promoter believes Chisora should fight Wilder in 2022. He calls the dust-up an "easy comeback fight" for the Bronze Bomber.
Wilder, 36, was defeated by Tyson Fury in his two previous contests. His most recent loss came in October.
Hearn stated to the DAZN Boxing Show, "Deontay Wilder. We want you back in the boxing ring."
Derek Chisora is the perfect man for you.
"Come on, he is getting on a bit, he has just come off three losses on the spin now.
Deontay Wilder's easy comeback fight. Derek's ready."
However, Chisora's trainer doesn't like the possibility of a fight and took to social media to downplay the situation.
Coldwell tweeted "Christmas is over." Eddie must put the sherry aside for another year.
Hearn supported Wilder in beating Chisora, and he is now considering retiring if the bout lasts more than four rounds.
He stated that all Chisora's losses were at elite levels, and Wilder was elite level.
"Listen, Chisora is capable of beating Wilder. He can hit Wilder with a big shot.
"I'm telling you, if the fight goes beyond four rounds, Chisora will win that fight."
"But he has to go past four rounds, and that's going to be really dangerous against someone punching as hard as Wilder."
