Ricky Hatton, 43 years old, has said he's considering a comeback to boxing
As revealed by us last week, the former world champion at two weight will face off against Marco Antonio Barrera in an exhibition fight later this year.
Sky Sports has now revealed that he was inspired by Mike Tyson's heroic return against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2000 to get out of retirement.
Hatton stated: "I believe it very much could occur.
"My best days are behind me, but then these exhibitions began to happen. The first exhibition between Roy Jones & Mike Tyson was the one I saw and I thought, "Well, yeah."
"People have asked me whether I'd be interested in doing something similar and I've always replied, "Yes, if you're the right person."
"From my perspective, Marco Antonio Barrera is linked with me. He would be a great partner in a ring. He is an icon, a boxing legend.

"I have not heard anything, but if it is coming, I will definitely be looking at it."
The trend was started by Tyson and Jones Jr, former heavyweight champions. They returned to the ring for a lucrative exhibition fight in November 2020.
Evander Holyfield, an ex-Tyson opponent, made a surprise return to the ring at the age 58 but was defeated by Vitor Belfort, a former UFC light-heavyweight champion.
Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy, has also decided to fight again against Belfort in a comeback bout. This was scheduled before De La Hoya was admitted with Covid.
Hatton's most memorable fight was with Kostya Trzyu, in front of a large crowd at the MEN Arena in June 2005.
The Australian was forced to abandon his stool in the 11th round by The Hitman, who displayed a spectacular performance to win the IBF and The Ring light-welterweight titles.
