Ricky Hatton and Tyson Fury both experienced depression.

Both legends have had to deal with depression, and Hatton has spoken openly about his suicidal thoughts.

The Hitman also suffered from drug and alcohol addiction and told how friends and professionals helped him to turn his life around.

Hatton shared in 2020 how Fury, now 33 years old, unintentionally called Hatton just to check-in.

IFL TV he said: "I posted a thing to my Instagram, "Not having my best day but we've got to get on with it."

"Do you know the person who called me?" Tyson Fury... in ten minutes. He replied, "Hiya Rick! What's the matter with you?" You alright?'

"That's Tyson, to make sure I was okay."

Fury is good friends with the pair, and Hatton was invited to join him against Wilder in their first fight.

Fury drank 18 pints of Lager during his depression, when his weight rose to 400lb.

He tried to drive his Ferrari onto a motorway bridge at his lowest point, but he was unable to do so because he thought of his five children.

Fury, who is currently in recovery, has been an advocate for others going through similar struggles.

His most famous Instagram post encouraged followers to share any mental health concerns.

Fury stated, "This message goes out to anyone struggling with depression or anxiety, bipolar disorder, or any other mental health problems.

"I was the first to openly discuss it in recent years; this is a special message for you.

You can do it, you just have to look at the positive things in your life.

"Positive" means being able walk, breathe in fresh air. You don't need any help to do things and move around.

"Keep positive and keep busy, everything will be fine."

"There are many people in the same boat, and it's hard to win. We must keep fighting - DO NOT GIVE UP."
