Ryan Garcia Returns with a Bang
American boxing superstar Ryan Garcia made a triumphant return to the ring, defeating Oscar Duarte by stoppage in the eighth round. This was Garcia's first fight since his defeat to Gervonta Davis in April.
Knockout Victory
Garcia, 25, dominated the 143lb catchweight contest in Houston, Texas. He trapped Duarte, 27, in the corner and unleashed a flurry of punches, leading the Mexican fighter to the floor. Although Duarte attempted to get back up, the referee waved off the bout, declaring Garcia the winner.
Calling Out a Rival
After his impressive victory, Garcia wasted no time in calling out his old rival Rolando Romero for a shot at the WBA super-lightweight title. In a post-fight interview, Garcia said, "I'm committing to becoming a world champion. If Rollies wants that, bring it on Rollies. Let's get that going, Rollies. Where you at?"
Romero's Cryptic Response
Romero, the current WBA champion, won the title controversially in May with a stoppage against Venezuelan veteran Ismael Barroso. In response to Garcia's challenge, Romero cryptically posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying, "What the f*** did I just watch?" He followed it up by stating, "Rolly by murder in the first."

It seems the stage is set for an exciting showdown between Garcia and Romero. Boxing fans will be eagerly awaiting further developments in this rivalry.
