Floyd Mayweather is now a defender of the Mexican and has joined the row.

Their relationship is now in disarray after Garcia decided to take time off the ring to deal with mental health issues after knocking out Luke Campbell 2021. This was to extend his unbeaten record of 22-0 to 22-2.

Canelo was furious at Canelo's lack of discipline and Flash KingRy was annoyed by his prediction that Gennady would lose to him in their forthcoming trilogy bout.

Mayweather, despite his long-standing rivalry against Canelo was able to defend his foe in the ongoing war of words between Garcia and Garcia.

He said, "You see Ryan Garcia. He praises Canelo first, and wants to learn from Canelo in Canelo’s training camp.

"Now it's all hatred. Do not be negative about Canelo for what he has done. Canelo is going to do his best and take responsibility for what he does. He's gonna fight.

"I can't knock on the mother *****, because he's going to the Hall of Fame."

Garcia, however, insists that he will not be stopped from expressing his disgust at Canelo's remarks.

Fight Hype reported that he said: "They need to stop me, and they need to stop my talking."

"It could have been Floyd, or it could be Canelo. Throw in all the GOATs. They need them all. They won't stop me."

Garcia is currently training for his toughest test yet in his career, this Saturday in Los Angeles, when he faces WBA super-featherweight champion Javier Fortuna.
