Scott Fitzgerald replies to Eddie Hearn's worrying picture.

BOXER Scott Fitzgerald assured his fans that everything will be alright after worrying images surfaced on social media Thursday.

After being photographed lying in the street outside of a pub, the 29-year old, who was awarded the British title in super-welterweight, seemed to be in a desperate situation.

Hearn admitted that he is worried about Fitzgerald's current situation

The fighter, who has struggled with drug addiction in recent times, was quick to stress that those concerned for him don't have anything to worry about.

Fitzgerald posted a Facebook message to reassure his fans: "I mean, stop making a fuss guys.

"It was exhausting.

"I am sorry that I have caused any distress to my Mum and Dad, but that is all I can do. I took a long, grueling nap outside my Wheatsheaf. All will be fine, squirrels.

Just hours after Eddie Hearn raised concerns about the images, the boxer made his comments.

He said to iFL TV, "Scott entered rehab more than a year ago. We were hopeful that he was on the right track.

"What we saw today stunned my life. We will make sure he gets help immediately.

"We will do everything in our power to help."

Jimmy Moon, Fitzgerald's trainer, told the Lancashire Post Friday that Fitzgerald needs help, but that he must want it.

"We tried to help him, but he must want to be helped.

"The most important thing before he can begin training again is that we make sure he stays clean and leads a healthy lifestyle.

"But it's still not happening yet. We will continue to talk to him and help him.

Fitzgerald declared himself a major contender for the super-welterweight division in March 2019 with a dramatic split victory over British rival Anthony Fowler

He won the British title in the weight division at 154lb seven months later by unanimous decision.

He has only fought once since then, as the circumstances outside of the ring have taken a grip on his life.

Fitzgerald was taken into custody in March 2020 for allegedly assaulting his ex-partner and their family.

He defeated Gregory Trenel, a Frenchman, in his last bout back in May.
