SERGEY KOVALEV rebuffed Tervel Kubrat Pulev in his win for cruiserweight points.
Kovalev, a former champion light-heavyweight, had not fought since his knockout loss to Canelo Avarez (31), in 2019.

On a Triller show, the Russian lifted his weight against Pulev, who was younger.
Kovalev, 39, beat Tervel 39 in ten rounds. However, he had to have his chin checked in the seventh round after an accident elbow.
That was all he had left to do in Los Angeles' headline bout.
Kovalev, who has been out of the ring for 31 months, is looking forward to a busy period in order to make up lost time.

He stated, "I'm just going keep in shape after the fight. We'll rest for a week then get back into the gym.
"I was worried about how it would be in the fight. Of course, there was some ringrust.
My body isn't happy with not being able to box at a high level for more than a year. Kovalev stated that he wants to fight every three to four months.

"I believe my next fight would be at an even higher level. If I can get one more fight, I will be ready to compete for a world title.
In a narrow points verdict, Pulev (39), beat southpaw Jerry Forrest (34).
The Bulgarian was making his return to the arena for the first time since December 2020's defeat to Anthony Joshua (32).
