Hulu will air MIKE TYSON’s life story in a series this summer.
A new trailer featuring some of Iron Mike's greatest highs and lowests has been released.
This August, a new limited series is available about Mike Tyson's personal life
Trevante Rhodes, a former world heavyweight champion, will play the role of the former champion in an eight-episode series.
The trailer also showed that Tyson's rich life is not without its limits.
The clip, which is 77 seconds long, is set to the song "I've Gotta Be Me" and includes moments from the 55 year-old's life.
These include the time Evander Holyfield bit Evander in the ring in 1997, and when Evander was sentenced to prison for rape in 1992.
The clip features Tyson's beloved pet tiger, as well as the brief clip that precedes the August 25th launch of the series.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Karin Gist, showrunner, said that the show would 'dig deeper' into Tyson’s life and not glorify it.
Gist stated: "We weren't trying to say Mike Tyson was a hero or Mike Tyson was a villain.
"Our goal was not to glorify or denigrate one person, but to examine a complex and controversial figure.
It is essential to bring stories like these out into the light and get them out of the shadows in order to move forward and take the conversation to the next level.
"We wanted people see Mike's culpability in life and society's. We let our audience choose what they feel."
Tyson, however, condemned the series in an Instagram statement in February.
He stated that "Hulu's announcement of an unauthorized mini-series about the Tyson story, without compensation, was not surprising."
"This announcement comes on the heels social disparities in the country is a prime illustration of how Hulu’s corporate greed led the to tone-deaf cultural misappropriation the Tyson life story."
