Preparing for MMA Debut

British strongman Eddie Hall recently suffered a brutal knockout during a sparring session in preparation for his upcoming MMA debut. The 36-year-old, who won the World's Strongest Man title in 2017, is set to step into the cage for the first time on February 17 in Qatar as part of a four-man tournament.

Sparring with a Lethal Opponent

In a YouTube video documenting his training, Hall revealed that he was sparring with a 6ft 9in professional Russian fighter. Despite being pre-warned about his opponent's skills, Hall admitted to being cautious and wanting to feel each other out. However, a powerful left high kick landed flush on Hall's head, dropping him to the floor.

Continuing Despite the Knockdown

Despite the brutal head kick, Hall amazingly continued to spar, showing his determination and resilience. This is not the first time Hall has ventured into combat sports, as he previously crossed over to boxing in 2022 for a super-heavyweight exhibition against rival Hafthor Bjornsson. Although he was beaten on points in that bout, Hall is now ready to make his mark in the world of MMA.

Upcoming Fight

Eddie Hall's MMA debut will see him face off against current World's Strongest Man, Mitchell Hooper. The event promises to be a massive spectacle, with other notable names from the strength and fitness world, such as bodybuilder and actor Martyn Ford and strongman Brian Shaw, also on the card.
