Eddie Hall's MMA Debut Plans Derailed
Eddie Hall recently revealed that he missed out on what he described as "life-changing money" after his scheduled MMA debut was unexpectedly canceled. The former world's strongest man was set to participate in a four-man cage tournament in Qatar.
Unexpected Turn of Events
Unfortunately, talks for Hall to face off against Mitchell Hooper or Brian Shaw in the tournament fell through suddenly, leaving him without the opportunity to showcase his skills in the octagon. Hall expressed his disappointment, stating, "It was big money, it was life-changing money and that's why I took the contract."
New Opportunities on the Horizon
Despite the setback, Hall is not giving up on his MMA dreams. He has resumed discussions for a potential fight and has called out fellow strongmen Hooper and Shaw, as well as actor Martyn Ford, as potential opponents. Hall shared, "Is there a fight looming? Yes, there is."
He added, "I'm talking to quite a few promoters, got quite a few different people setting things up, trying to lure fighters in. Martyn Ford, of course, is one of those. Brian Shaw is one of those, Mitchell Hooper is one of those."

Transition to MMA
Having previously ventured into boxing in 2022, where he faced off against rival Hafthor Bjornsson in a super-heavyweight exhibition, Hall has been focusing on MMA training. Teaming up with interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, he has been diligently preparing for his MMA debut and has managed to shed weight, dropping down to 25 stone.
