ERROL SPENCE JR is confident of landing a super-fight against Terence Crawford THIS YEA - through elimination.

These two welterweight stars have been linked for years, but no deal has ever been made.

Talk of the perfect matchup grew after Crawford, 34, walked off Bob Arum’s Top Rank stable and became a free agent.

The unbeaten champions have taken out the rest of competition, so neither one will need to travel anywhere else.

SunSport spoke with Spence, 32: "I believe it can definitely occur, it's an enormous possibility."

"He doesn't have any dancing partners at the 147 that make sense for him. It is possible, I believe.

Spence, the reigning WBC/IBF king, unites his belts with Yordenis Ugas' WBA version, 35, live on Showtime.

This means that the Texan could become a three-belt holder when he faces Crawford who is the WBO strap owner.

This creates an unprecedented title decider between the two most prominent boxers in their prime.

Spence stated: "I feel like this will be at its highest level, especially with Ugas beating me."

"Fighting to earn four belts is the highest, but I have to overcome Ugas.

"I must get past him. Otherwise, it won't happen."

Spence was originally scheduled to face Manny Pacquiao (43), in August, but he suffered an eye injury and was replaced by Ugas.

Pacquiao was defeated by the Cuban, and Pacquiao retired. This set up Texas' unification.

Spence is aware that he is only one win away of the greatest fight in American boxing when he returns to Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium.

However, all that is at stake can be taken away in one night. Ugas knows how to get rid of the box office script.

Spence stated, "I have one person ahead that's trying knock my head off."

"So I have to get him out of my way before I think about anything else.

"If you don’t have that mentality, it’s how many fighters get upset and are defeated."

"Because they look at other people when there's someone in front of them, training is just for them.

"That's how I think, to focus on Ugas and my opponent right in front of my eyes.
