Canelo, 31 years old, was able to draw with Golovkin (39), in 2017. The rematch took place in contentious fashion one year later.
They sold more than 1 million pay-per-views, earning Canelo as high as PS40m each.

He stated, "I believe he can be undisputed at 175 also."
"You have Dimitry Bivol. I think he would be a favorite in that fight. Joe Smith Jr. and Beterbiev are an absolute all-out battle.
"Maybe he decides. But with Canelo it's about having a plan to face a new challenge. And maybe Golovkin does that. Or maybe not. Or maybe he just wants to keep going to 175.
"Maybe he wants [David] Benavidez to fight. He'll decide."
Canelo, a free agent, has returned to Showtime pay per view to defeat Plant, 29 years old. He had fought six times on DAZN.
Three of them had signed a short-term agreement with Hearn. Hearn will now be one among many offering his services to Alvarez's promotion next year.
He stated, "We're going go to him and say: 'Here's our three or four options.
