The top ten P4P fighters in boxing across all weight divisions are revealed, with Canelo and Anthony Joshua fighting it out

CANELO ALVAREZ, who will fight Caleb Plant November 6, will attempt to be undisputed super-middleweight champion of the world.

If he beats the American, there won't be many who argue against him being the best pound-for pound.

The Mexican is already a four-weight world champion - it wouldn't surprise if he dreams of a chance at heavyweight or cruiser in the future.

SunSport's top 10 boxers, pound for pound, are listed here - it was not an easy task.

1 Canelo Alvarez

Canelo Alvarez, a Mexican hero, has become boxing's most prominent star since Floyd Mayweather left the sport.

Canelo, who was 23 years old when he lost to Mayweather in 2013, has gone on to dominate the super-welterweight/middleweight divisions and also won a super-middleweight world title.

He defeated Billy Joe Saunders' hopes and also his eye socket with a stoppage victory last time.

Next is the unification bomber against Caleb Plant. But the Mexican seems unbeatable at the moment.

2 Josh Taylor

Amazingly, Josh Taylor doesn't get the respect that he deserves.

Scott, 30, has fought some great warriors along his journey to UNDISPUTED super lightweight champion.

Taylor is now the face Sky Sport's new era of boxing without Eddie Hearn. It's about time.

3 Terence Crawford

Terence Crawford is just as elegant in the ring outside as he is inside it.

Crawford is the most powerful switch-hitter in the game, and his combination punching can overwhelm anyone.

American is balanced, making him a good counterpuncher. Julius Indongo also knows this. However, he can be as deadly as a box-puncher and often wins in the latter rounds.

Crawford won the world titles at super-lightweight, lightweight and super-lightweight. He is currently WBO welterweight King after holding undisputed gold at 140lbs.

4 Anthony Joshua

Joshua was selected for his boxing abilities, which he learned as a amateur and his bounceback ability.

The sport was shocked when Joshua was defeated by Andy Ruiz Jr, a late, unfavorite stand-in. But, they went back to the drawing board and won a rematch easily.

Critics will argue that AJ may be the complete heavyweight. However, AJ is not pound for pound because of his transferable skills.

He has not shied away from a challenge, and his list of victories is impressive.

5 Naoya Inoue

American citizens now have a complete knowledge of Naoya Inoue.

His two victories by KO in Las Vegas are a testament to his incredible power at bantamweight.

The Japanese banger, who began his career at 108 lbs, went on to claim titles at super-flyweight and junior-bantamweight champion.

After campaigning at lighter weights, the 26-year old heavy-handed man has been able to fly under the radar.

Everyone was stunned when Nonito Donaire beat him in the World Boxing Super Series final.

6 Teofimo Lopez

Lopez was the lightweight world champion in his 15th fight - three fights prior to Mayweather - when he defeated Richard Commey in December 2019 for the IBF belt.

The 23-year old was rightfully considered an outsider in the match against Lomachenko, the masterful southpaw.

Lopez resolutely disbelieved and became an overnight sensation, knocking P4P No1 off its perch.

He was also the fifth man (behind Terence Crawford, Terence Crawford, Termain Taylor and Terence Crawford) to hold all four undisputed titles.

7 Tyson Fury

The Gypsy King made the most memorable journey back to the top when Deontay Wilder was defeated to become WBC heavyweight champion.

Fury is agile and quick, even when he is at his most groin-strength in boxing. He is often several steps ahead of his opponent before any punch is ever thrown.

Fury remains undefeated as an amateur - he has 30 wins and one draw with 21 KOs.

On October 4, he will be fighting his trilogy against Deontay Wester. Once that is over, all eyes will turn to him finally getting in the ring with AJ.

8 Vasiliy Lomachenko

With a record 396-1, the Amateur Game was over. The one loss to Albert Selimov was later avenged. The simple question was: could the boxing mastery transcend his skill set to 12 rounds?

A loss to Orlando Salido, WBO featherweight champion in Lomachenko’s second pro fight, was a stark reminder of the fact that the unpaid ranks can be a totally different game.

Loma was then outmuscled by an overweight veteran, Loma became the fastest three-weight world champion.

Lopez suffered a contentious defeat and the proud Ukrainian took a loss. Lopez is now desperate for a rematch.

He bounced back brilliantly, outclassing Masayoshi Nagani before KOing the Japanese fighter in ninth

9 Oleksandr Usyk

After winning the WBSS, which included all the divisions belts, Usyk was undisputed cruiserweight king. He now holds the title of heavyweight champion.

His quick footwork, steady punching rate, and heavy hands made him no match against anyone at 200lbs. His most notable win was against Tony Bellew in Manchester.

He has had some difficulties at heavyweight with Derek Chisora, the Ukrainian master of heavyweight.

Next up, Anthony Joshua will be playing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on September 24, 2012.

He could be a challenger to Canelo if he gives the Brit his second defeat, and grabs the WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight titles.

10 Artur Beterbiev

Russian powerhouse Beterbiev cemented himself as the man at 175lbs, after stopping Oleksandr Gozdyk from adding the WBC title and his IBF belt to his IBF belt, and then defending them against Adam Deines.

The now unified light-heavyweight puncher was resilient in the Eastern European affair, and maintained his 100% KO rate.

In what will be another clash between two heavy-hitters, Dmitry Bivol, WBA ruler, has been mentioned as a possible unification match.

A potential meeting with Kovalev, or even Canelo, would be a great way to increase Beterbiev’s already frightening profile.
