Larry Holmes, a former WBC heavyweight champion, doesn't think the pair can make it in his time.

Holmes is not convinced that the duo can hang with the current generation of heavyweights despite the harsh punishment they took in their fights.

He said about the pair during an interview with Fight Hub TV: "They don’t have any skills."

"They don’t know how throw one, two, and then move on to protect themselves."

"The fighters of today are different from the fighters I fought when I was a fighter. We fought the top 10 and didn't dodge anyone.

"Today's guys don't want fight - if you want to make money, you have to give it to them. You've got make these guys fight."

Holmes' opinion is partly based on Fury and Deontay Wilder's epic back-and forth last October, during which The Gypsy King got dropped twice.

Holmes stated that they had a great fight, despite not being able to watch the entire fight. They had a great fight.

"They throw punches [from the waist] for a jab. You don't throw like this for a jab. You throw straight!

"You must throw the punch straight to stop them from hitting you. They don't know how one-twos are made, so they don't have any protection.

"You know what?" "I had a great day. I had fun doing what I did."

Fury, who is usually elusive and fleetfooted, took much more punishment in his trilogy fight with Wilder that fight fans are used too.

Holmes is certain that the WBC heavyweight champion's movements aren't any different from how he used to dodge punches back then.

He said, "Fury cannot move like Larry Holmes. You've got to punch punches.

"And that's exactly what he does, takes punches. I guess that's all he wanted to do, show people that he can take one punch.

"The boxing game is hit and don’t get hit."
