GEORGE KAMBOSOS JR barely left the gym for NINE MONTHS - following a chaotic period with fight cancellations and Teofimo Lopez.
The Australian is just days away from competing for the WBA, IBF and WBO 'Franchise’ lightweight titles.
After putting in a lot of work at the gym, George Kambosos takes on Teofimo Lopez
The fight was halted by a positive coronavirus test for Lopez (24), and the disastrous delays caused by Triller's promotional banner.
Kambosos (28 years old) refused to let go of his guard and worked as long as the game was still the same.
SunSport reported that he said: "It's publicly known that this fight took a long time, and there have been dates set up and changes. Lopez getting Covid.
"But, everything has not been on my side. I was ready to fight, but I stayed very focussed.
"I stayed in gym, I'm stronger then ever, my tunnel vision is unbelievably sharp and the way that I see it, this IS war.
"War is not something you can win in a day, it can take months or even years to win.

"Focused and patient, remaining hungry, and now we are here."
Lopez pulled out following a fight with Covid-19. The title fight was originally scheduled for June 19, but it was moved to August.
However, the summer date was never realized and instead October was chosen.
Unfortunately, the fight did not materialize and Triller, the social media platform that paid PS4.5million for the fight, decided to give up.
Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing was the next highest purse bidders and inherited the rights.
Kambosos and Lopez will now meet in New York, ending one of the longest boxing sagas.
He stated: “It really doesn’t matter how long this fight has taken, I’m just very excited.
"I have gotten better and better, and I know that he hasn’t. He has gone backwards. I go to the gym every day, there are never any 'camps for me'.
"I am always in the gym. It just depends on where I am, whether I'm in Sydney and Miami.
"As we get closer, we just increase the pace and the rounds. But I'm always in my gym, perfecting and improving my craft, and getting better every day.
Lopez may be hoping that I will start to lose weight or pull away from Lopez, but that's not what I mean. This is what I love. I beat Lee Selby that night and was at the gym that evening!
"That's how important this means to me, and how much I love the sport. I just kept my focus and continued to improve.
Jeff Horn, 33 years old, famously shocked Manny Pacquiao (now 42) in front of 50,000 people at the Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane in 2017.
Kambosos wants to do more by winning unified titles, and thereby making his mark in Australian boxing history.
He stated, "This will become huge. I get goosebumps just by thinking about it."
"This victory will probably be among the top five most significant in Australian history. It would make me the greatest fighter in Australia.
"It's not disrespectful to the great legends of our past, but facts are facts, and it's huge."
