CANELO ALVAREZ, Gennady Glovkin took a break to throw punches in order to toss the ceremonial opening pitch at Yankee Stadium.
Both boxing partners shared the honor of launching the baseball game as the New York Yankees faced off against the Oakland Athletics in MLB.

Canelo, 31 years old, is still reeling after a shocking loss to Dmitry Bivol in Las Vegas last month.
Fans were thrilled to see GGG, the Mexican sensation, perform on the mound.
Both boxers participated in the ceremonial pitch that preceded the MLB showdown, breaking with tradition.
Alvarez was the first one to throw his throw. He showed good technique and unleashed a decent fast ball.

Golovkin looked a natural at the ballpark, with his smooth actions ensuring that his pitch landing was perfect.
The Yankees won the crucial match 9-5. Fans were thrilled to see their heroes.
Many were impressed by the boxers' throwing arm and took to social media to praise them.

Some were hoping for more fireworks, but the pair faced off on the mound.

Canelo and Golovkin fought last September 2018, when Golovkin won a controversial rematch based on points.
Their trilogy has been on for four years. Golovkin, 40 shot at the Mexican, saying that he was trying to avoid getting back in the ring again after avoiding it for the past four years.
Alvarez believes that his nine-year advantage in age can help him win another victory on September 17.

He stated, "He's talking about a lot of things. It's personal because of that.
"He always talks of how scared I am, and I run away when I'm fighting some of the best fighters out there. He's fighting with Class D fighters.
"He always pretends that he is a nice guy, just like in front of people.
It is what it is. I don't pretend that I'm nice. This is how I am. I am not trying to be someone else.
He's not one of them, but he pretends to love him. He isn't a scumbag.
