The young, talented pacemaker of Britain, and the paramedics who came to his rescue too late, could not save the married man.
McGuigan was also responsible for Dubois sister Caroline's career.
"My assistant Josh arrived two days later, and when I went down to meet him outside the hotel, there was a man on wobbly legs who was passing out.
"He collapsed, and I began giving him CPR. Later we discovered that he had an implanted pacemaker. He came back around.

"Then, a lot of bile came from his mouth, and thankfully, an ambulance arrived, but sadly, he died."
McGuigan, who was appointed to revive Dubois' career as a heavyweight fighter after the 2020 loss to Joe Joyce, had just come out of a bizarre Don King press conference. It was wildly absurd and borderline absurd.
All the laughter soon fades as he recounts the heartbreaking moments that led to his death.
He said, "I brought him about and his pacemaker kept trying restart his heart." "I thought that he had survived and come around."
"But when we got down, we discovered that he had died the next morning."
"We learned that he was suffering from severe food poisoning after a cruise to Egypt, so he was likely already weak."
McGuigan's quick-thinking and first-aid training were used again.
He said, "I had to learn CPR to work in a corner. But it was only the second time that I had used it."
"I worked at a gym where someone had a heart attack. I took his advice and used it there.
"But in that instance, the ambulance got there thankfully prior to he got into a really bad situation."
