TOMMY FURRY lashed out at Carl Frampton for his prediction that Jake Paul could beat him.
Tommy was set to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul in the ring in December before Tyson's brother suffered a broken rib and chest infection.
Frampton supported the American social media personality to defeat the British bruiser, and that didn’t go down well with Frampton or his family.
Tommy said to iFL TV, "It's very stupid for him to say that."
"He was a fighter I used to admire and to watch a lot of his fights, but he's now a man that I don't have the time to spend with."
Tommy answered no to a question about whether he had spoken with Frampton. Tommy said that he doesn't want to speak with Frampton.
"He's just one man I don’t want to have anything to do. If you’re going pick someone else over your fellow countryman regardless of whether he can combat, that's a very bad job."
Tommy's father John took exception to Frampton’s prediction, and confronted him about it after Tyson’s press conference against DillianWhyte on Tuesday.
He stated, "You think Jake Paul is a boxer?"
Frampton responded: "No, he's not a boxer."
John replied, "Why do you think that he can beat Tommy?" Answer the question now. You disappointed me. I looked up and supported you.
Frampton replied: "I'm trying to be truthful, John."
John retorted: "Honest? Honestly, a YouTuber could defeat a Fury? Are you p***ed?"
Frampton stated that he was not trying to be p***ed but was simply trying to be truthful.
John stated, "I don’t want to talk to you." Make sure you have all the facts or quit.
