TOMMY FURRY was warned that he might not get another chance to fight Jake Paul. This could mean missing out on the opportunity to win the prize of a lifetime.
Paul, a YouTube sensation, was the former reality TV star who was ready to set records and make a name for himself.
Jake Paul was ready to fight Tommy Fury
Fury, 22 years old, was devastated to have pulled out of the December 18 grudge game with Paul, 24 after suffering a broken vertebrae and chest infection.
The 7-0 Briton, unbeaten, also had the opportunity to win bragging rights and a huge fight purse.
BJ Flores, Paul's former trainer and cruiserweight competitor, said that no career as a world champion would have given him the same amount.
SunSport spoke with Flores about Tommy: "I don't really have any comment except that he missed a huge opportunity, regardless of whether he was sick or had bad luck.
It's a huge opportunity that he won't get again. That would have been the largest payday of his career.
"Even if he became a champion, it is very unlikely that he would have made the same money again in any fight during his career."

He could have made millions, especially considering the increased price of UK PPV.
Michael Bisping (42), a former UFC champion, claimed Tyron Woodley (39) for the loss to Paul in August.
Fury would have been Fury's first opponent if he had any prior experience in professional boxing.
Paul beat YouTuber "AnEsonGib", ex-NBA star Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37).
However, his greatest win was against Woodley, who is now Fury's replacement.
Coach Flores said they could leave Fury and move on to bigger fish.
He said, "We have other names on our resume, to be truthful with you.
"Other big name on the radar, larger names than Tommy that are coming to, so I don't know.
To be truthful, it doesn't really matter for me. Tommy wasn't here or there. I didn’t care if it was Tommy.
"Jake doesn't have the 'opportunity to fight Tommy', Tommy had the chance more than Jake."
Woodley, an ex-UFC champ, has taken over on less than two weeks notice to secure a second chance at Paul.
Flores however promised that a new opponent would be facing Flores, an American MMA veteran from Florida.
He stated, "I see victory, I see win 100 percent." He said: "I see a fight in which Jake's going look exponentially better.
He'll be sharper and crisper. You'll notice a few new elements in round one.
"I don’t know which round the knockout will be, but I don’t care, we’re not in any hurry, we’ve got eight rounds to complete it."
