TOMMY FURRY revealed that he broke his rib while sparring with Jake Paul before he had to withdraw from the fight.
Fury, 22 years old, was removed from the fight on Monday after suffering a bacterial infection and a broken rib.
He has spoken out about the injuries and said that his body was not strong enough to continue with the fight, which was scheduled to take place in Florida on Dec 18.
He spoke on social media and said that training camp was great for him for the first two weeks, but then I got a bacterial infection in my chest which made it difficult to breathe.
"I couldn't breathe during sparring sessions or pad work sessions. I coughed up a lot of phlegm every time.
It led to me sleepingless nights for four weeks. My mind was set on 'I'm going train, I'm gonna get through this, and I'm going fight no matter what'.
"Four weeks ago, we decided to have sparring and I took a small clip to my body. My body was so weak from the virus that I knew something was wrong.
"I was vomiting from the pain and was almost doubled over. I grabbed my bag and ran straight to the hospital for an MRI scan. The results came back the next day.
"The results showed that I had a clean break, and I had multiple fractures. The next week, I believed I could still fight, but it was then that the doctor and my entire team decided I couldn't.
"Even though it's not sinking in that I'm not fighting, it's not sinking in. My main focus is to get a new fight date and to recover.
"I can't do any other than get my body as fast as possible and search for a new fight date.
"There's no other fight, that's my next fight and we can hopefully work out a date for next year."
Fury also shared an x-ray image to support his injury.
NEW OPPONENT
Fury is unlikely to be able to change the date of his fight with Paul, as the YouTube star has not confirmed that he will.
Paul will fight Tyron Woodley, the former UFC World Champion, on December 18.
While Fury's show continues, Fury, 24, couldn't believe he decided to withdraw.
Paul used social media to confirm their clash. "It's official, Tommy Fury has pulled out due to a medical condition. The Furys have pulledout of the fight."
"I was shocked at the news, and it doesn't seem real to me now. He lost the largest bag of his entire life. He will now be watching me at home and paying $60 to me instead of fighting me for millions.
"I've fought with broken noses, I've been sick, this is boxing. He was afraid, I believe the pressure got to his head, and the s**t-talk got him.
