TYSON FURY will fight Anthony Joshua at least once' after the event is over.
Heavyweight stars have been close to getting deals, but were denied.
Tyson Fury will fight Anthony Joshua "at least once"
Fury was not allowed to fight Deontay Wilder in a summer showdown after they had agreed on terms. Fury was instead placed into a three-fight series.
AJ was then forced to fight Oleksandr Uzyk, and was defeated. This set up a rematch against the Ukrainian.
Even if Joshua loses to Usyk again, there is still hope for the British boxing fan that they have been waiting for.
Todd DuBoef from Top Rank, who promote Fury told Sky Sports that it was about what people want to see.
"Regardless of the order, Fury vs Joshua will be what the people want to watch.
"Regardless of whether one guy gets out-boxed on one night, it doesn’t matter because each has great fanbases.
"We, the people involved, owe it to the people to give them what they want. Because the people want it, I believe Fury and Joshua will fight at minimum once.
"If Joshua and Usyk rematch, and Usyk is sensational again," then maybe Fury vs Usyk will be a popular choice.
"Joshua claims he had a bad night. He must establish his dominance like he did against Andy Ruiz Jr."
In round 11, Fury, 33, defeated Wilder, 36 in their epic October trilogy fight in Las Vegas.
Joshua, 32, lost his unified belts to Usyk, 34, a fortnight before. Usyk was able to outclass Joshua in 12 rounds.
Fury will now fight Dillian Whyte (33), in a WBC compulsory defense. AJ is exercising his right for an immediate rematch.
Both would win, which would open the door to the much-anticipated clash and give the blue division a huge boost.
DuBoef said: "Joshua must take his career back to an elevated level by ending his off-night. This is crucial.
He is an ambassador for boxing and a champion. Boxing will be more successful if Fury and he are both successful.
"The dynamic nature and uncertainty of uncertainty creates real curiosity.
"Tyson is in an amazing position. Deontay Wilder was defeated when he brought him in. His personality has taken control of the world."
