Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou - Is it a fake fight?

The Letdown in Las Vegas

The upcoming desert dust-up between Tyson Fury and MMA star Francis Ngannou has left many skeptical. Some argue that this fight is nothing more than a giant version of the Letdown in Las Vegas from seven years ago. Back then, fans were led to believe that Floyd Mayweather Jr would be in mortal danger when facing Conor McGregor. However, it turned out to be a mismatch that became boxing's second-biggest pay-per-view event.

Ngannou's Lack of Experience

When it comes to the Queensberry rules, Ngannou is an unknown non-entity. He has been out of the cage for two years and has only been in action twice in the last 3 ½ years. Despite training with boxing legend Mike Tyson, it's unlikely that Ngannou will outsmart master boxer Fury or knock him out like Deontay Wilder failed to do in three fights.

Fury's Credibility at Stake

While Fury is Britain's most popular champion, his involvement in this fight has raised concerns about his credibility. Some fans feel that he is demeaning his world championship status by participating in what appears to be an easy money-making scheme. It remains to be seen how many fans will be willing to pay to watch this fight.

Arabian Nights

History has seen other famous boxers, such as Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, involved in similar freak show-style fights. However, these fights took place after they had lost their world titles. Fury, on the other hand, has accepted a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia to fight Ngannou for a staggering £34.5 million.

Only time will tell whether this fight will be an Arabian night to remember or one to forget. In the meantime, Fury's fans await his future unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk in December or January.
