But the man himself was quick to shut down the rumours.

His UK promoter Frank Warren added: “We haven’t had negotiations with anyone.”

The unbeaten British legend announced his retirement aged 33 after knocking out Whyte, 34, in April at Wembley.

It would mean any hopes of the first-ever, four-belt heavyweight unification were dashed.
