Tyson Fury could face Dillian Whyte before 90,000 fans. Wembley is 'emerging as frontrunner' for hosting grudge match

Dillian Whyte and Tyson Fury could be taking their highly-anticipated British grudge fight to Wembley Stadium.

Frank Warren, Fury's promoter, guaranteed the fight after a record-breaking PS30.6million purse offer.

The mandatory title fight was initially scheduled to take place at Cardiff's Principality Stadium (75,000 seats).

However, it seems that this option is now closed. Manchester has been ruled out, which means Fury's dream homecoming in Manchester is over.

According to The Times Wembley is now the "frontrunner" to host the domestic title clash.

England's home stadium has hosted two fights by Anthony Joshua (32), and is not unfamiliar to boxing matches.

The first was an exciting 2017 victory against Wladimir Klitschko (now 45), which set a new record with 90,000.

Two years later, however, after AJ's win over Alexander Povetkin (42), the capacity fell to approximately 70,000

Joshua's September fight against Oleksandr Usyk (35), was held in front of 68,000 people at Tottenham's stadium.

It is possible that the Premier League side could again be an option to host Fury and Whyte (both 33).

West Ham's London Stadium is another contender, capable of housing up to 80,000.

Fury has not fought in the UK since 2018, and his last five fights were held in the States.

Warren and Bob Arum, the US Hall of Famer, confirmed that the Gypsy King would make a return to face Whyte.
