TYSON FURY was accused of trying to "stay relevant" after he retreated from his boxing return.
The Gypsy King announced that he would be returning to fight Derek Chisora in a unlikely trio bout despite his wins in 2011 and 2014.
Tyson Fury was accused of "trying to remain relevant"
Fury announced his retirement for good two days later on Fury's 34th birthday.
All this happened as Anthony Joshua was getting ready for Oleksandr Usyk's rematch in Saudi Arabia.
Frank Smith, the CEO of Matchroom Boxing, who supports AJ, cast doubt on Fury's claim to retirement.
Smith stated to The Mirror that he had retired before, but it isn't his first. We will find out.
He just wants to be relevant. He is trying to be relevant.
"One thing that I would like to say is that he's the WBC champion. If he has actually retired, he should be required to give up his belt.
"He shouldn't rush because he has his own time and doesn't have the need to fight mandateries.
"But, if he retires the belt is something the WBC should look at.
"But how many times has this bloke been retired and returned? He'll likely be fighting Thor Bjornsson next Wednesday.
Fury was defeated by Dillian Whyte (34), at Wembley Stadium. Fury retired for the first time in April.
He has been linked to the possibility of challenging Usyk (35), and Joshua (32).
Fury called instead Chisora (38), and Bjornsson (34), the former world's most powerful man, who have had four boxing shows.
He still has to give up his WBC belt as a heavyweight fighter. He can confirm by writing until August 26th whether he will fight again.
Fury is willing to negotiate a first-ever four-belt heavyweight bout if he does.
Sky Sports quoted Arum as saying: "It's really Tyson Fury's only fight that makes sense."
"I have discussed this with Frank Warren, my co-promoter for Fury. Once this fight is over, we're going put together a complete unification match between Tyson Fury and the winner.
"Now, if Usyk wins, which I expect it to be, that will not be difficult because we're very near to the Usyk people since they're the same people who manage Vasiliy Lombenko, who fights for me.
"If Joshua wins, Eddie Hearn is his promoter. Hearn and I have spoken many times about different matches. We are sure that we will be able to work together on this one.
Before their rematch, Oleksandr Usyk & Anthony Joshua
