Tyson Fury leads Conor McGregor, UFC icon, in the sport rich list 2022 with Jake Paul down at 45th and Canelo at top

TYSON FURY earned more than Conor McGregor 2022, but Canelo Alvarez is the top earner in fighter earnings this season.

Since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in July, The Notorious has not fought - but he still leads YouTube phenom Jake Paul.

Sportico has revealed the top 100 highest-earning athletes for 2022, with only FOUR coming from combat sports.

LeBron James is the leader with PS104million ($127m in total earnings), while Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Lionel Messi make up the other top four.

Canelo Alvarez, a Mexican superfighter, sits in fifth place.

Dmitry Bivol, 31, defeated the 31-year-old as he tried to climb up to light-heavyweight.

The 33-year-old Irishman has earned PS26m ($32m), with a staggering PS16m ($20m), in endorsements.

He will be able to fight big-money fighters once he is healthy again. Both Charles Oliveira, and Michael Chandler called him out last weekend.

McGregor is leading Kylian Mbappe, Max Verstappen and others on the leaderboard.

Jake Paul is the fourth and final fighter in the top 100, despite him not having fought in 2022.

His last fight was December when he defeated Tyron Woodley in their rematch.

Paul, 25 years old, is still believed to have earned PS31m ($37m).
