He said: "As most people are aware, especially in boxing, Rico Burton was murdered. Another victim of knife crime."

"Many of us have known him since he grew up.

"We're proper heartbroken. "He was part of this gym, part the community and it has really just knocked me sick.

"We are paying our respects to him by doing our small tribute, 10 bells, which is boxing tradition, and we're doing it in his honor.

Steve said that the gym would be introducing a "Rico Burton Memorial Trophy" at each presentation.

"Rico will be remembered forever. He added, "Three cheers for Rico."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of sorrow.

"We feel it so I cringe to imagine how awful they are feeling. All the best.

ATTACK OF 'SENSELESS’

Fury posted a social media message on Sunday calling for a "higher sentencing for knife crimes" after his cousin was "stabbed in their neck" while watching the clash between Anthony Joshua (Oleksandr Usyk) on Sunday.

On Instagram, he wrote: "This is becoming absurd... idiots have knives. This must stop.

"ASAP, the UK government must bring more severe sentencing for knife crimes.

It's a pandemic, and you won't be able to tell how severe it is until you have experienced it yourself.

"Life is precious and can be taken very quickly. Take every moment and enjoy it.

Rico's death is amidst a wave knife-and gun violence in the UK.

Shadow Home Secretary Yvette cooper stated that knife crime was destroying lives and devastating families.

"This is yet more horrific killing on Britain's streets. This is a national crisis that needs urgent attention before more lives are lost.
