Tyson Fury reveals the reasons he left Ring Magazine's belt, despite not knowing that he was retiring

TYSON FURY vacated Ring Magazine's heavyweight title to try and emulate Muhammad Ali.

The Gypsy King gave up his prestigious belt, which Oleksandr Usyk & Anthony Joshua had recently fought for, last month because he wanted to stick to his retirement.

In an effort to be a three-time Ring champion like Muhammad Ali, the Gyspy King gave up the belt.

The Brit's surrender of the strap was premeditated to follow Ali's footsteps and become a three time holder of this title.

He said this in a recent interview with SecondsOut: "I gave up that belt so that they could fight to get it."

"Do you understand why?" Because I will be a three-time Ring Magazine heavyweight champion of the World.

"That's how confident that I am in beating Oleksandr Usyk."

Fury, 34 years old, won the Ring heavyweight title with an upset win over Wladimir Klitschko on November 2015. He also claimed the WBA, Super, IBF, WBO, and IBO belts.

In February 2020, he regained the belt with a spectacular seventh-round TKO win over Deontay wilder in Las Vegas.

Fury defended and vacated the belt against Wilder twice before finally renouncing it last month.

In their epic undisputed battle, the Wythenshawe warrior will try to reclaim Usyk's title.

The Saudi Showdown was scheduled for December 17, but it looks like the fight will take place in the early part of next year.

Fury said that he plans to fight again later in the year and told BT Sport: "I'll be fighting very soon. We are still searching for an opponent, so I don't know who the opposition is.

"I will fight in a few months here in Britain. Usyk won't be ready to fight, he doesn't want to. I will fight anyone who is available.

"Whoever Frank Warren gets me, that's who I'll be fighting against for my WBC belt."

Usyk would like to spend time with his family in war-torn Ukraine, and recover from the injuries he sustained while fighting Fury.

Tyson Fury will fight again in this year's fight - with or against Oleksandr Usyk

Fury stated that he saw a video of a middleweight beating a bodybuilder and said he wanted to fight me. He called me out afterwards.

"I responded straight away, and did another one recently in order to say, "Let's fight", but he doesn’t want to fight.

He let his mouth open, but now he runs scared like a little b ****, he said he wanted to fight next year. However, he suffered some injuries in the sparring contest, so I don't have much control.

"I would choose the middleweight fight because it is the most easy for me.

"I don't care if I am undisputed. Never have been, never will.

"But if you have a high-powered middleweight boxer who people believe is a great fighter - even though he isn't my favorite - then that fight is the money fight. That is what people want to see.

"I don’t want to say anything except 'find your balls, come and see us, you s***house.
