Wilder was beaten by Fury in their second fight

The fight ended in a draw between the two teams in December 2018. Many believed Fury should have won despite being flattened twice.

The Gypsy King took his revenge on Wilder in February 2020, when he beat Wilder from pillar-to-pillar in an attempt to stop Wilder's progress in the seventh.

Fury was able to get the WBC heavyweight title belt, which was the first time he hadn't won.

Fury spoke out on Fox's October 9 promotional video about the trilogy. He talked about the moment he realized he could KO The Bronze Bomber.

He said: "After the Wilder fight in round one, when he knocked my down, I got up again and started to get into it. And he didn’t like it."

"I knew from that moment on how to defeat Deontay Wilder.

"I knew that I had to move forward on him and unleash big punches. It was the best thing that could've happened, looking back years later. I got to do it all over again.

Fury claimed that Wilder's withdrawal in round seven saved his life.

He said, "The last stoppage was when he was caught clean [in round seven].

"I believe that the referee saved his life that night as well as his career."

Fury claims he will "smash Wilder" again when they clash in their trio on October 9.

Fury will defend his belt and aim to move Wilder closer to retirement.

The 33-year old said on a Zoom call to media: "It's almost that time of year again where Las Vegas is taken over by me, and it becomes home of 'The Gypsy King.'

"And remember, Deontay Wilder will be smashed .... and I will.

"I am very excited. I look forward to this fight. I am very motivated, focused, determined, and excited for October 9. It would be perfect if it were this weekend.

"I must wait one week more before I can get these big hands on Wilder for the third time."
