DAVID HAYE insists he is still '100% serious' about Tyson Fury.
This is despite the fact that Fury brutally defeated Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas in 11 thrilling rounds.
David Haye remains '100% serious' about Tyson Fury
After three years, Haye returned to defeat his friend Joe Fournier (38), in an exhibition in September.
He called Fury out and said that Fury was the fight for which he would return to professional boxing.
Haye made a second attempt to overcome Wilder's difficult trilogy defeat.
He said to iFL TV, "It's 100% serious."
"I stated that the No1 heavyweight on this planet would be the one for whom I would put my body through a comeback.
"It's not unreasonable for me to punish myself and do whatever it takes to make myself a chance to have any kind of chance, even if it's not for the big one.
"And it doesn’t get any larger than that, I’d be like a 1,000/1 underdog for good reasons.
"Hopefully, when Team Fury crunch the numbers, something's going to happen in the next two-months where they're looking for an enemy.
"I know how big-time boxing works. When he figures out how much money Hayemaker fights versus other options, even though they may appear more respectable on paper, he knows it is out there."
Haye, 40 was scheduled to fight Fury (33) in 2013, but she pulled out with one week to go after being cut in sparring.
The event was rescheduled for 2014. However, the ex-champion withdrew again, this time due to a shoulder injury.
Haye would make a comeback in 2016, but his career was ended two years later by Tony Bellew, 38.
It was therefore shocking to learn that he would be facing Fournier, who he had previously managed and promoted.
The eight rounds were completed, but The Hayemaker took it more as an exercise to clear the cobwebs.
John Fury called Haye to a fight recently. John later attacked Haye for his Las Vegas punditry.
John, 57, stated on talkSPORT that he was not going to discuss the matter because that man is an idiot. I don't understand why BT sent him there. He's just a hater.
"He is a hater, he has nothing positive to say, and he's not a good pundit. He gets everything wrong, and it's all about David Haye.
He did an amazing job as the world champion. But he must grow up and develop a personality.
"I have no respect for this man at all. None."
