DILLIANWHYTE is finally going for his heavyweight title shot.
The incredible Tyson Fury stands in the way of the Londoner grabbing that belt.
Eddie Hearn, promoter of the WBC believes that the Gypsy King will be forced to defend the iconic green belt against the challenger.
That is Whyte.
Although it's not the 'Battle Of Britain" scrap many boxing fans had hoped for, Anthony Joshua lost to Oleksandr Uzyk. The rematch has been agreed.
Because of a shoulder injury, Whyte had to withdraw from his fight against Otto Wallin. Hearn believes there's a bigger prize just around the corner.
Fury has had 31 victories from 32 fights. There was one draw and no loss.
While Whyte has won 28 of his 30, with only two losses, Whyte has won the other 30. They were defeated by Joshua, and Alexander Povetkin suffered a shocking KO loss.
Povetkin was sent into retirement after the Bodysnatcher won the rematch.
Both Brits have similar KO ratios - Fury has 22 stoppages per 32, while Whyte has 19 in his 30.
Although Whyte is a heavyweight, he's no match for Gypsy King.
Fury stands 6ft 9in tall, while Whyte is 6ft 4in. Fury's 85in reach could make it difficult for Whyte to match Fury's 78in.
Hearn spoke about Whyte’s huge chance and said that "that WBC fight, I believe, will be called during the convention in approximately three weeks."
"I don’t believe the Fury fight will take place until February at the earliest so it won’t be an issue for me.
"He wanted to fight, and anyone who knows Dillian Whyte will know that he won't shirk from a fight."
