RICKY HATTON believes Tyson Fury, his pal, is eager to face Anthony Joshua. However, he might decide to retire if a fight all-British can't be arranged soon.
Their historic world heavyweight title trio was completed by Fury's second consecutive win over Deontay wilder last weekend.
According to Ricky Hatton, Tyson Fury would like to beat Anthony Joshua following his win over Deontay wilder.
Hatton, a Mancunian boxing legend, believes that AJ is the only box' for the Gypsy King unbeaten to 'tick'. However Joshua's conqueror Oleksandr Usyk may also tempt him.
Fury has indicated that he intends to fight again, but he does not know if he will continue beyond that.
Hatton wrote in Metro: "If Tyson Fury needs a break after the war with Deontay wilder, then none of us can blame them."
"We may not see him until Oleksandr Usyk Vs Anthony Joshua 2.
Tyson may need a break, which will allow AJ to redeem himself against Usyk. We get the fight that we all wanted if he can do it.
"There is one box that he must tick now, I believe and that is the all British title showdown with AJ.
"If that doesn’t happen, then I don’t think there’s much he can do in this career.
"He has had three exciting fights with Wilder. He could hang them up right now, and I don't see anyone who would be against him.
"But Tyson knows me so well that he'll want to end his career beating AJ.
"But again it wouldn't surprise us either if it doesn’t materialise soon and we see Tyson in his ring.
"And he could hold his head high proud if that happens."
Hatton admits Fury vs Usyk will be "huge", and predicts that the Briton would defeat the Ukrainian, where AJ failed.
He said: "If Joshua is not possible, he can fight Usyk. And he will say: "I'm the man that beat the man."
"I believe Tyson would turn it into a battle. Tyson would attempt to put Usyk to the sword, while AJ tried to outbox Usyk.
"I believe Tyson has the attributes necessary to outbox Usyk.
"His jab is as strong as his movement, he can punch as hard and he's a much larger man.
"He would have all of the advantages, but where AJ failed I believe Tyson would succeed."
