TYSON FURY might not be fighting fellow Brit Dillian Whyte but Andy Ruiz Jr. or his pal Joseph Parker.
Champ Fury was ordered by the WBC to defend his heavyweight title against Whyte.
The WBC has ordered Fury to fight Whyte
Negotiations are still unclear because they have yet to decide on a split if it goes to purse bids. A process promoted by Bob Arum could drag on.
Fury made it clear to Arum and Frank Warren, his UK-based promoter, that he plans to fight next March.
The WBC ordered the fight. His next opponent will be the Whyte unless he vacates his title or finds another route to allow an interim bout.
However, Arum has not confirmed that this is true.
TalkSPORT spoke to the American and confirmed that they are looking into other fights, including one against Parker, who beat Derek Chisora convincingly on Saturday.
He stated that if we don't reach a deal with Dillian Howte, we will fight for the Ring Magazine title and the 'lineal title' and pick another opponent.
"We have to get Tyson back into the ring before the end of March...
"Frank [Warren] is determined to fight him with an acceptable opponent, and we would love to do that fight in Cardiff.
"Andy Ruiz Jr. is an option.
"Joseph Parker, I see, had a good win over Derek Chisora -- that could be a possibility.
"And we're also looking at other names that might be suitable."
Parker would love to fight Fury, as he is on a mission for the top of the heavyweight mountain.
