Later, he claimed Javier Mendez - a coach of Khabib Nurmagomedov as well as Cormier – would be his choice for MMA trainer.

DC, a former champion UFC two-weight division, would not share his knowledge with Paul. Paul once challenged him to a fight.

Cormier, 42 years old, stated to The Schmo that he had no interest in such things. It seems like there are a lot of ploys. It's always a ploy.

"I don’t know how truthful it is, but it feels like a ploy, so I’m not going to play that card."

Paul, 24, defeated Tyron Woodley, ex-UFC champion, in their December rematch. This was four months after they had won on points.

It was added to KO's by YouTuber 'AnEsonGib, an ex-NBA player Nate Robinson (37), and Ben Askren (37), who is a retired UFC welterweight.

He called out UFC duo Jorge Masvidal (37), and Nate Diaz (36), shortly thereafter to continue his rivalry against the UFC promoter Dana White.

Paul claimed that he would fight Masvidal at the UFC if White agreed to his terms.

These were the demands: "1) Increase min fighter's pay per fight to $50k (it is currently $12k).

"2) Guarantee UFC fighters at least 50% of UFC's annual revenues ($1bn by 2021).

"3) Provide long-term healthcare for all fighters (you said previously that brain damage was part of the gig... imagine if the NFL said the same).

"Many UFC alums have openly stated that they are suffering from brain injury."

Mendez, American Kickboxing Academy's head coach, denied ever agreeing that Paul would be trained there. However, he would consider it if his gym was on board.

He stated, "It could happen. We have to look at all the coaches, all the fighters and any other famous athletes like him.

"They will follow the same routine as everyone else, so he would need to be voted for by everybody.

"First, he has never been asked. He's made a beautiful marketing campaign for himself.

"I loved the plug that he gave me, it was fantastic and I think he is a great person.

"But, the truth is that no matter who you may be, you must go through the team before you can train with us.

He has not asked for consent, so he has not been granted consent. He won't [be approved], but I know that he hasn’t asked.

"If he gets denied, he won’t know who denied him because we don’t say that."
