Vasiliy Lomachenko "agrees" to fight George Kambosos Jr. in Australia's dashing hopes for an undisputed clash against Devin Haney

LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION George Kambosos Jr has been reportedly scheduled for a June fight against Vasiliy Lomachenko, a Ukrainian fighter.

Lomachenko reportedly "agreed" to fight Kambosos

ESPN claims that Lomachenko, a former champ of three divisions, has already signed up for the fight.

Kambosos is still waiting for the green signal.

Although the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne has been reserved for June 5, the 28-year old is still trying to choose a rival.

If Kambosos accepts to fight Lomachenko it would end all hopes of a meeting with Devin Haney, WBC champion.

Haney, an American heavyweight, is still said to be "in contention" for the June 5 clash. Kambosos has yet to decide with whom he will go to war with.

Haney called for an undisputed title determiner.

Another avenue that Kambosos could explore is to face Gervonta Davies.

According to reports, Kambosos may be ordered by the WBA to fight Davis in an attempt to combine their titles.

After a spectacular upset win over Teofimo Lopes, Kambosos won the WBA, IBF and WBO lightweight titles.

He was also present at Haney's victory over Joseph Diaz Jr. in December, amid rumours about an undisputed fight.

Lomachenko was in action as well in December. Lomachenko outpointed Richard Commey in order to keep his name in a title shot.

Lomachenko lost the belts that are now in Kambosos’ possession in October 2020, after Lopez won unanimously.

Lomachenko has now agreed to fight Kambosos and could regain the Olympic gold medals he won in 2018.
