The WBC is considering organizing a tournament to decide a new heavyweight champion, if Tyson Fury retires.
Fury, 33, declared that he had beaten Dillian Whyte (34), in front of 94,000 people at Wembley.
According to the WBC, Fury will have one year before he is stripped of his belt. The mandatory challenger will then be called.
The sanctioning body is yet to confirm if the Gypsy King will be retired.
The WBC is considering a tournament among their competitors to determine the new champion if Fury's gloves are indeed left hanging up.
Sky Sports spoke with their president, Mauricio Sulaiman: "We have one-year to have the next mandatory fighting."

"At the moment, we will wait to see Tyson Fury's decision, then we will do a series -- a boxing tourney -- going into a last elimination. But at this point, we're going wait because we don’t know the exact circumstances."
After September's defeat, Anthony Joshua, 32 will be rematching Oleksandr Uzyk, 35 in July.
If Fury is tempted back to the ring, the winner could set up an undisputed superfight with Fury, 33.
Sulaiman is not in a hurry to ask Fury for the final answer.

"I don't like to speculate. I'd rather give him time to enjoy his vacation. Whatever he does, the WBC will support him.
We will support him if he decides to put down the gloves and enjoy life, be a successful father, and have a bright future.
"If he chooses to keep fighting, we will support his efforts."
