TYSON FURY will tell the WBC that he will continue fighting and is not retiring.
After his April victory over Dillian Whyte, the Gypsy King took off his gloves and retired on his 34th birthday.
Tyson Fury will fight again
The WBC belt will not be vacated by the Gypsy King
Fury announced his second "retirement" announcement, in which he vacated the Ring Magazine heavyweight title. However, the WBC chose to give Fury more time.
The deadline for Fury to make his decision was originally today. However, this deadline was extended to Friday September 2, following the tragic death of Fury's cousin Rico Burton.
Mauricio Sulaiman, president of WBC, tweeted: "The @WBCBoxing has acknowledged the tragedy that occurred in the Fury families and in respect to their grief has decided not to extend for one week the official decision by @Tyson_Fury concerning his status as heavyweight."
Sky Sports reports that Fury told his team to relay the message to WBC that he WILL fight once more.
The Gypsy King will likely target Oleksandr Usyk in a massive heavyweight unification fight.
Anthony Joshua's conqueror said last weekend that Fury was the only fight he wants.
Alex Krassyuk, the 35-year old's promoter, has already confirmed that the matchup is "in the making".
Frank Warren, Fury's promoter, said that both fighters want it.
"I am confident that we can make it happen, and crown Tyson Fury the undisputed heavyweight champion in the world.
"It will probably be the biggest heavyweight bout I have ever seen in boxing."
After his victory over Joshua, Usyk has become Ring Magazine's No1 pound for pound fighter.
