"We don't trust Fury" - Eddie Hearn reveals the reasons Anthony Joshua turned down Tyson Fury’s PS15million step-aside proposal

EDDIE HEARN claims that Anthony Joshua's step-aside plans fell apart because Tyson Fury couldn't be trusted.

Joshua, 32-year-old heavyweight, refused to leave his Oleksandr Uzyk rematch in order to allow Fury, 33, Ukraine's WBA and IBF champs, to challenge him for his WBC belt.

The Gypsy King demanded AJ fight in a warmup bout next month. This further delayed AJ's chance at the undisputed title. The complicated multi-fight plan was canned.

Eddie Hearn is AJ's promoter and also oversees mandatory WBC Dillian Whyte. He said that Fury would not agree to fight in one fight.

"AJ didn't want to be left out and Fury requested a March fight, AJ really didn't want to leave.

"We had to believe Fury in order to have a fight, then Usyk and Usyk in June, AJ and Dillian in December.

"I had to tell AJ this and he couldn't trust me."

Fury claimed the plan was KO'd as AJ wanted a PS15million step aside fee increased to PS20m.

Hearn claims that the amount changed only when Team Fury asked for the March tune up.

Fury and Whyte (33-year-olds) are set to meet in April. They will be followed by Usyk's Joshua match at 35 years old.

Hearn said that Tyson could withdraw based only on his track record.

"Tyson wouldn't fight Usyk if he didn't have a warm up fight."

"He just fought Deontay wilder. What does he need to warm up for?"
