DILLIAN WHYTE has dismissed claims Tyson Fury was the greatest heavyweight ever, but acknowledged that he is their best rival for now.
The Gypsy King was proud to boast of his heroic trio fight with Deontay wilder, in which he won a dramatic 11th-round knockout.
Dillian Whyte claims Tyson Fury is THE greatest heavyweight of all-time
However, Whyte claims that with just two victories over Wilder (36), and a well-known 2015 upset of Wladimir Klotschko (45), it doesn't compare to other legends.
CNN interviewed him and he said: "Who hasn't fought?" He can't claim to be the greatest, Deontay Wilder or Klitschko.
"OK, you may be the greatest heavyweight in your era because you haven’t lost, then everyone is against you.
"But you are not the greatest. "You haven't even reached half of what Lennox Lewis achieved: Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, George Foreman - all these guys.
Whyte is currently WBC interim champion. He will be challenging Fury for Fury's title.
He was supposed to defend his status against Otto Wallin (30), on the weekend until the British contender 32 withdrew due to a shoulder injury.
Wallin's team hopes to have the fight rescheduled after Fury was ordered by the WBC to face Fury, 33.
However, Whyte seems ready to focus instead on Gypsy King. He argues that this is just common sense after waiting so long for his chance at gold.
TalkSPORT was informed by Fury that Fury has the world title. That's what he's been waiting for and what he's worked for.
"I don’t know how many sanctioning fees have I paid."
"I could have easily abandoned this path and taken another one years ago, but instead I waited, waited, and waited.
"So, what are you going to do?" What are you going to do? Fight Otto Wallin, fight Tyson Fury.
It's common sense. "I'm not afraid of anyone, as I already said. I wanted to fight.
"I believe they're going mandate me vs Tyson Fury. They've basically already said it.
"It's already mandated really, so it's not necessary to wait - I want the UK man to have it, that's a UK battle.
"This is the biggest all-British heavyweight fight since Lennox Lewis against Frank Bruno."
