The Irishman mocked Dagestani's passing by tweeting "Covid is good, father is evil"
Conor McGregor made fun of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov's passing with this deleted tweet
McGregor's tweet, which he had just deleted, caused outrage within the MMA community and led to widespread condemnation.
Javier Mendez, Nurmagomedov's coach, has also joined the chorus of criticism.
McGregor was mentioned by AKA chief Mike Swick during an appearance on The Real Quick podcast.
"How many people have you known who lost their families, their businesses, or lost everything due to COVID? And you laugh about it?
"You say Covid is good, but father evil?" Are you kidding?
So you are saying this to all the poor people who lost their families, their businesses, people who committed suicide over this tragedy, and you think that you're making a mockery by attacking someone's father with that?
"You are an idiot. You're an idiot. ... It's just another tool to get into people's hearts.
He's an idiot. He is a complete idiot and out of control. I am sorry.
"And this has absolutely nothing to do Khabib's father. This is not related to the comments made on COVID.
"We know his thoughts on Khabib. That's okay.
"But you make such a comment, all the money on the planet isn't going allow you to get away from some of the stupidest things you have ever said."
Nurmagomedov, who recently retired, believes McGregor's latest effort to penetrate his skin is a reflection on his true character.
Mike Tyson was told by the Russian: "When someone doesn't with us, he isn't even alive - that shows what you have within."
"This is how dirty you really are.
"When you are one of the greatest in the world, and you come to punch someone like 70 years old (in a bar), this is a sign of your heart.
"This is who you really are, no matter how filthy you are.
"When your parents have children, how are you supposed to show them love?"
"I don’t understand why his closest people don’t go, 'Hey! What's the deal?'"
McGregor, 33 years old, is currently recuperating from the broken leg he sustained in his fight last month with Dustin Poirier in UFC 264 Trilogy.
The two-division champion of the past is expected to remain on the sidelines during the next year, but will resume full training in April.
