McGregor, a former champion in two divisions, revealed last month that it was his goal to return to the cage this summer.

UFC President Dana White anticipates that the Irishman will be back in action this fall.

White and the UFC brass won't rush McGregor to get back to training until McGregor is cleared by doctors.

He stated, "If his leg heals well and he has the clearance to start training, then he may be able to train in the early fall."

White, a MMA mogul, plans to meet with the UFC's poster child in the coming weeks to discuss his healing and to set a date for his big-ticket return.

White said that McGregor's recent callout of Kamaru Usman as welterweight champion was interesting to her.

"He's coming to Vegas, we're getting together, and we're going to talk. We'll be watching what happens next.

"Any Conor fight makes good money."
